Retired US Marine Corps Officers in the grades of O-3 to O-6 may apply. Must meet the Marine Corps/JROTC prerequisites and standards to be an Senior Marine Instructor (SMI) as directed at https://www.mcjrotc.marines.mil/Instructor-Information/Marine-Qualifications/

 

Retired US Marine Corps Senior Noncommissioned Officers in the grades of E-6 to E-9 with a Bachelor’s Degree may also qualify with a waiver.

 

Watauga High School MCJROTC:

Watauga County Schools and Watauga High School are proud of the strong program that the JROTC offers to our students.  Our JROTC students are given real-world experiences under the guidance of the JROTC instructors.  After finishing the program our students come out with leadership skills necessary to be competitive in the 21st Century.  Watauga County Schools is looking for a Senior Marine Instructor to continue to enhance our past and present successes while continuing to build the WHS MCJROTC into the best program in the state.

PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to the Teacher job classification within Watauga County Schools. Work in this classification is considered light physical work and requires the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift objects and a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
